IST 2000 R can be used for:
-
Selection of job applicants for various positions;
-
Talent identification (also for internship and graduate programs);
-
Evaluation of development potential.
I-S-T 2000-R is the newest version of Amatauer’s test for evaluation of the cognitive abilities. The test is based on Cattle and Horn’s intelligence theory according to which the problem-solving ability depends on two basic functions: capacity for information processing or fluid intelligence (gf) and knowledge/expertise or crystallized intelligence (gc).
Crystallized intelligence (gc) represents the overall knowledge (incl. methods and operation rules) which an individual possesses. This expertise is especially effective when the individual is facing familiar problems. Therefore, the higher the crystallized intelligence of the examinee is, the more variable and complicated the problems he/she could solve.
The fluid intelligence (gf) determines the overall potential for learning. It reveals the speed and ease with which a person absorbs new experience and plays a decisive role when he/she has to deal with complex, difficult or unfamiliar problems.
The complex structure on which the battery is based is reported in Beauducel, Brocke and Liepmann (2001) and Liepmann, Beauducel, Brocke and Amthauer (2007). Besides crystallized and fluid intelligence, the full battery also differentiates verbal, numerical, and spacial intelligence. The IST 2000 R thus allows intellectual abilities to be assessed in a contemporary and well-differentiated manner.
I-S-T- 200 R consist of three modules:
-
Basic module is used to evaluate the capacity and the swiftness of the thinking processes. The module evaluates all basic congestive abilities- inductive thinking, deductive thinking, the abilities to reflect, analyze and problem solving, culture and language abilities, abstract logical thinking, ability to solve dimensional problems, etc. The format of the tasks stimulates the mental processes which occur during real problem solving situations. They require the formulation of prior hypotheses, a systematic examination and assessment of alternatives, systematic integration of the results of partial analysis in the overall solution, etc.
The Basic Module consists of 180 problems, divided in 3 sub-tests consisting of 3 groups of 20 problems each:
a. Verbal Intelligence: Sentence Completion, Verbal Analogies, and Similarities.
b. Numerical Intelligence: Calculations, Number Series, and Numerical Signs.
c. Spatial Intelligence: Figure Selection, Cubes, and Matrices.
-
Memory Module is created to test the ability to recreate short-term, targeted and retention verbal and nonverbal information. Individuals with high scores on it can successfully learn new facts by memorizing.
-
Additional Module is created to evaluate the common knowledge and culture of the examinee. The result from this module correlates with high school performance and provides evidence for broad learning interests.
OS Bulgaria organizes Certification Training for IST 2000R.
Our Certification Trainings are created according to the international standarts for professional test application. They are accredited by the Bulgarian Psychologists Federation and are approved by the publishers/authors of the original instrument.
he content of the courses covers the requirements for obtaining an Eurotest Certificate - EFPA and ISO 10667-1:2011. The Certification Trainings are designed to teach how to work with one or more (see combined trainings) tests. More information about Certification Trainings here.
